Kant, aquele homem que só sendo louco para ter sido o filósofo que foi, tinha razão em uma coisa: se queremos ser felizes, devemos seguir nossas inclinações; se queremos ser corretos, devemos abandoná-las, e seguir nossos deveres. Um amigo me lembrou disto hoje e percebi como é engraçado de que modo filosofia e vida se misturam. Como quase acabo de dizer, em outro texto, o dever é, por vezes, desumano.
O que fazer, no entanto, quando tanto a inclinação quanto o dever não trarão nem felicidade e nem retidão?
Kant, that man that had to be mad to be such a philosopher, was right in one thing: if we wish to be happy, we have to follow our inclinations; if we wish to be correct, we have to abandon them, and follow our duties. A friend of mine reminded me of that today and I realized how funny it is the way philosophy and life get mixed up. As I almost just said, in another text, duty is, sometimes, not-human.
But, what to do when neither inclination nor duty will bring neither happinnes or righfullness?
